The Green Commune is located in a highly biodiverse rural area in the western part of North Macedonia, a region still heavily dependent on coal. In cooperation with the Macedonian Ecological Society, the local NGO as well as other partners and experts in green develoment, we successfully installed a 20 kW PV system on the rooftop of our community building. The energy produced is used to cover the building’s electricity, heating, and cooling needs, while the surplus is sold on the open market. This model helps us remain sustainable, supports green energy production, and contributes to phasing out coal in the region.

Building on this achievement, we continue our journey by collaborating with similar organizations and individuals worldwide, exchanging experiences and addressing shared challenges. We care deeply about our environment and our small community, and we are committed to sharing our knowledge, practical experience, and inspiration with others to advance the global green energy transition
