Developed under the ACCE project (Access to Capital for Community Energy), this guide aims at providing advice and practical examples to help energy communities create financing tools dedicated to community energy projects.

When launching renewable energy production projects, energy communities are faced with the difficulties of raising sufficient cash to finance their installation. This prevents energy community projects from scaling up. To remedy this, citizen-led energy cooperatives across Europe have launched financing tools dedicated to their projects: Community Energy Financing Schemes or CEFS.
