This short document outlines the main features of different financing schemes for solar PV projects: private equity, leasing, crowdfunding, energy cooperatives, project finance, loans and bonds.

The information is based on interviews to equity investors and banks carried out by the PV Financing project, an initiative that aimed to identify business models and financing schemes for PV installations. The interviews took place in seven countries (Austria, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Turkey and the United Kingdom) but the answers are relevant for other countries too.
