Energy communities can be a powerful tool for local governments to bring people together and benefit everyone in many ways. For an energy community to thrive and be diverse, it needs the involvement of local governments. However, many municipalities have limited knowledge of community energy and don’t know how to support their local initiatives.
The Community energy espresso training is a self-paced e-learning course that prepares municipal employees and leaders and local authorities to become community energy supporters. The course is divided into five modules of two hours each:
The course runs from runs from 1 April to 31 August 2024 and includes two live online lessons. Participants can earn a certificate upon meeting certain requirements.
This training is aimed at people working for local or regional governments, local energy agencies or public utilities, regardless of size or location. No prior experience in community energy is required. City officials, elected members, technical experts and administrative staff are all welcome.
The Espresso training is part of the LIFE LOOP community energy accreditation scheme for local authorities. The completion of the scheme recognises municipalities demonstrating foresight in energy community matters. It is a first step to becoming a community energy leader.
Whether you don’t know where to start from or you are stuck with a specific issue in the development of your energy community, an expert can help you.
